Elements of the Story

As you plan out your story (along with character development and storyboarding), you want to consider the various elements of the story -- setting, problem and resolution. Setting is where the story will take place, along with time periods, the environment of the story, and more. To keep a story moving forward, you will want to have a problem or conflict facing your character, and then find a way to resolve the problem. Here is a sample brainstorming sheet from a sixth and second grade collaborative claymation project. (You can download your own blank sheet, too)
